Snap Meetings is designed to give you everything you need to learn how to participate effectively in meetings. All you need for Snap Meetings is a copy of Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised (and The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure if you want to take the bonus lessons) and your computer. Additional information can be downloaded or read on line.
Once you have registered for Snap Meetings, you can choose which lesson you’d like to take first. Every lesson contains four downloadable files: a lesson text with the reading assignments in Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR), a supplemental aid to learning the material, a set of study questions for you to look up the answers, and a set of answers to the study questions so that you can check your responses. When you think you have a grasp on the information and concepts being taught, you can take the lesson quiz.
Each lesson quiz consists of three parts. There are fifteen true/false questions, ten multiple choice questions, and one additional question that requires matching or ordering. Each of the first twenty-five questions is worth three points, and question 26 is worth 25 points. You must get 80 points to pass the quiz. You may take the quiz as many times as you like, and you may review any of your previous quizzes by clicking on the score for a particular quiz.
When the first ten lessons have been completed, you will be allowed to print your certificate of completion, and will also be given the option to take the two additional lessons, which are based on the rules in The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure (TSC). A separate certificate of completion will be given for the completion of those two lessons. The TSC lessons cannot be taken until all of the RONR lessons have been completed.
